'BEHIND THE SCENES'...

Just a quick update of photos to show where we are with our 2 minute introduction. Here are some shots that we took whilst filming. In the bottom image, the time lapse shot is being filmed and the bottom photograph is just showing the position and camera angle.

SOUND UPDATE

Here is just a quick update on the music that will be featured in our 2 minute introductions. It is an array of lively, melodic and eerie music. Yes, it may appear quite lengthy, but in the scenes i am listening to my music through headphones and due to the timelapse it will be changing quite often. We wanted to make it quite choppy and realistic as possible. Also we are not quite sure where each track will be placed during our film, so that is yet to be figured out.

1. Charlie Simpson - Sundown
2. Klaxons - Golden Skans
3. Grimes - Oblivion
4. Imagine Dragons - Radioactive
5. Joy Division - Disorder
6. Temper Trap - Love Lost
7. Alt-J - Interlude 3 & Dissolve Me
8. Passion - Little Secrets
9. Kings Of Leon - Closer

Here are also a list of some tracks that i thought may be quite good..

1. (Music towards the end)
Florence + The Machine - Seven Devils/ Instrumental?

2. (Overhead shot - beginning and then getting onto the train)
Foals - Blue Blood/ Instrumental?

3. (Slow motion shot)
Foals - Spanish Sahara

4. (Lift closing at the end, fade into black)
Foals - Fuge

5. (Getting on the train)
New Order - Ceremony / Beginning of track

LIFT LOCATION...

Alice kindly went and checked out this lift for filming location as we have had some previous difficulty when attempting to film in lifts as we are often told to leave! Alas, we finally found the lift! It is perfect for what we want.. the red inside creates a dangerous and eerie atmosphere, as well as the mirror adding to the creepiness of the shot. The doors were our beiggest concern when lift hunting as we were quite picky and needed two doors that opened in the middle. The plan is to go and get the scene with myself and Josh on Monday, which will be our final shot. Can't wait!

SHOT IDEAS...

I was thinking about the ending to our film and the music to go alongside it and as a group we have discussed having our final shot being of lift doors closing which i still think is great. I did have an idea about one of the final shots before that.. once it is exposed that the lift is in fact empty i thought a good shot to include would be a close up of my headphones on the floor, just laying there. This shot would create an intense atmosphere and leave it on a cliffhanger which is what we want as it is a 2 minute introduction to a movie. Also this allows us to continue the music as it shows where it is being played from. We have discussed ending on some quite eerie and solemn music overall to set the tone and finalise that something bad has happened.

HARD EIGHT CREDITS CONTINUED...

Finally managed to get my Youtube to work, so here are the credits from the film 'Hard Eight' that i explained about in my previous post. They are quite long but just bear with it and you will see what i was talking about in the previous post.

HARD EIGHT CREDITS...

Seen as i cannot get any videos to play on Youtube for some reason, i shall just explain and post the actual video later when my internet decides to work! I just saw the opening credits for the movie Hard Eight and they managed to reallt catch my eye. I loved the simplicity of them, yet they were so effective. The use of a black blackground and then white typed text was really intriguing and slightlye eerie. I have to say though, the one element of the Hard Eight opening credits that i thought was brilliant and would definitely mention to the group was the pure silence whilst the titles rolled. This built the beginning of the film up exceptionally, but not giving away anything! I think this technique could work really well in our 2 minute introduction as we are hoping to get some dynamic shots, therefore i feel the titles should be quite simple. The use of silence would work really well as it could begin with no audio and then as the first shot appears, you hear the train gradually and as i step on, then the music comes in - building great tension and drawing awareness to the film overall!
